Anne developed a fascinating relationship and a close friendship with Gilbert Blythe, who is 2 years younger but is studying at the same rate as Anne. Gilbert's father was ill and interrupted his schooling. Gilbert called Anne Carrots upon their first meeting. Amybeth McNulty stars as Anne 13, a thirteen year old who endured an abusive childhood in orphanages and the homes of strangers. Anne finds herself sent into Prince Edward Island in late 1890s. There she is alongside Matthew Cuthbert and Marilla Cuthbert. At the conclusion of the film, they're both content. Gilbert Cuthbert is 55 and is still engaged to his girlfriend.
